United for a better world, Small things are responsible for big changes. The objective of Andean Hikers Peru is to contribute to reduce social inequality, through social works, helping the development and increase of social welfare, environmental, education and quality of life of people living in remote parts of Peru, putting all our attention to our children who are the present and future of our country giving year to year school supplies, such as books, notebooks, pencils, among others. AHP goes to remote communities, it was identified that most agencies in Cusco prefer to visit small communities near the city.
Choquequirao to Machupicchu Great Adventure with Andean Hikers Andean Hikers Peru, one of the only agencies that were really enthusiastic and genuine, and true to their words I would find I difficult to find fault with any aspect of the trip. The trip was organized well, and the cooking was superb, we were even served a delicious cake (Freshly baked) on the last day. Julio, our guide was great fun and knowledgeable about Choquequirao and Quechua Culture. The trek itself was absolutely amazing. The scenery was breathtaking and we saw very few tourists on the trail for the first 2 days. Choquequirao is so great because you actually can walk around and explore it without being bombarded by a million tourists. The ruins are so large that you can actually walk around without bumping into many people at all giving you time to truly enjoy it, and at your own pace. We were really pleased that we chose this trek because you really have time to enjoy the marvelous of the Andes and see how people live in the mountains of Peru. It truly is a beautiful place to explore. We highly recommend Andean Hikers to do the Choquequirao trek you won’t regret.
Manu Park 4 days 3 nights with Andean Hikers. We are lovers of Nature, it’s for that we decided to book again with Andean Hikers Peru to do a trip in the Manu National Park, we booked 4D/3N and we had so much fun doing this trip, everything was very well arranged from the pick up at our hotel until return to our same hotel. The guide, food, lodges, bus, everything was very good, our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive with us we learned a lot about the jungle with him, our cook was good always providing us, with very good dishes, our bus driver was very attentive as well he showed us when some bird or animal appeared along the rout before to get our first Lodge, thanks to him we were able to see hundreds of birds included the ¡cock of the rock! The national bird of Peru which was very beautiful, along the river we saw Kapibaras as well also we saw aligators, snakes, macaws. In a afternoon we swim in the river which was cool, the river is very rough but the captain of the boat gave us life jackets to be safer while we swim. At the end we would like to recommend Andean Hikers Peru to do the Manu National Park.
Best Trail in the Andes. I want to let you know what a wonderful and memorable time I had doing the Inka Trail I was so impressed with Nestor our guide, Tomas our cookman and all our porters, They were all so professional, yet caring and fun. I booked with Andean Hikers Peru and was a very good choise beacuse it was the best of the best for me. The guide that Andean Hikers use for this trail is absolutely the best in the Andes. Nestor has done every job in the Andes, and with more than 25 years experience he knows everything there is to know about the mountain life, inca’s culture, vegetation, ecosistems history and so on. Tomas our cook was amazing, he made us delicious 3 course meals per day all served in buffet style and I'm not sure quite how he did it with limited space and resources. Making this fabolous trek i had the oportunity to find myself, the trek it’s very hard and challenge but all is in your mind if you have a possitive mind you can do any other trail in the world. I am planning on going on more trekking adventures in the future and this local tour operator will be my first choice! Thank you Andean Hikers Peru for making my first solo trekking adventure such a terrific success. It has far exceeded my original goals, expectations, and dreams!.
Fantastic Trekking Experience with Andean Hikkers. We spent 5 days trekking, through the Salkantay Trek with Andean Hikers Peru began when we touched down in Cusco with Harawi the owner of this company he introduced us to Jhon our guide who was very friendly and talkative and he ensured that all of us were well-prepared (equipped with sleeping bags, down jackets, trekking poles, etc) for our trek. During the trek, our guide managed our expectations well (gradient, travelling time, etc), shared with us their knowledge about the area, incas culture, their experiences, their life stories, etc. Arrangements for camping and meals were well-tended too. We ended the trip, full of heartfelt appreciation for our guide (Jhon), as well as our horseman (Francisco) who took immaculate care of us during the entire trek. The cookman (Richard) was very good, all meals prepared was very delicious in great variety, thanks Richard. Well, you might feel that the breathtaking views of Cusco and the Andes can make up for any crappy trekking experience but I honestly feel that the presence and attentiveness of the entire Andean Hikers crew made the difference between an 'ok' and amazing Trek in Cusco. And yes, this was one amazing experience with them. I strongly recommend Jhon as guide his wealth of trekking experience, his warm and earnest personality, and the way he treats all of us with such care and respect will be something that I will remember for a long time. Thanks Andean Hikers Peru.
Great Hike Do It With Andean Hikers Peru. Six months ago, we decided we wanted to go to Peru, and four months ago we decided that trekking to Ausangate plus Rainbow Mountain was how we wanted to spend much of our time there. We booked with Andean Hikers Peru thanks to reccomendations of friend and they helped us a lot. When we found Andean Hikers Peru I was heartened with the prompt response and ultimately the acceptance of us two solitary guys. After a brief, informative meeting with Harawi, the manager, and our fabulous guide, Ricardo, the day before, we were sent to pack for our 6 days trek. The following morning we were picked up at our hotel and driven to the Trailhead. Every arrangement taken care of, allowing us to immerse ourselves and enjoy the journey. Ricardo was very helpful during the Trek, not only was he above and beyond attentive, but he kept us well-informed and smiling - teaching us all of the andean mountains and elevations, helping us learn spanish, and being a lighthearted, upbeat friend along the Trail. The Trek was hard we were always walking over 4000 masl, i recommend to walk by your own pace don’t try to be the super hero. Each day we were asked for our breakfast, lunch, tea/biscuit, and dinner time in advance so that I had only to sit and relax at each stop, for the night. we were asked if our tents were to our liking, if we needed something else, and if we were feeling well and enjoying ourselves. Given the physical exertion of the trek, Ricardo constant consideration was a welcome salve. The food was good, hygienic and fresh each dish was very well decorated and Victor our chef prepared us very good food for us every day. Before I ramble on further, I'll just end by saying that should we decide to do future Treks in Cusco, we will be using Andean Hikers Peru and, more specifically, Ricardo services as our guide again.
